Welcome to My Studio
Hello, I’m Josephine Ng — a pianist, teacher, and lifelong learner with a deep passion for sharing the joy of learning music. I began playing the piano at a young age, serving as my school’s pianist and also as an independent accompanist for soloists, ballet, and choir groups.
Since 2000, I’ve been teaching piano to students of all ages — from the very young to adults — helping each one discover not only how to play, but also how to love music. My goal is to inspire, guide, and cultivate confidence so that every student can find their own voice at the piano.
I believe music is a gift for everyone, and it’s my joy to make the learning journey meaningful, creative, and enjoyable.

My Musical Journey
Some background about me…. I began studying piano at an early age. My love for music blossomed at the age of 11, when my teacher praised my playing — a single moment that ignited a lifelong passion. I began serving as my school’s pianist and accompanist during chapel and choir sessions, and was actively involved in handbells and string ensembles, often taking the role as the accompanist.
These early experiences shaped my deep appreciation for ensemble playing, collaboration, and the joy of making music with others, and I hope my students can also discover this joy — finding expression, confidence, and connection through music.
Learning with Josephine
I believe every music student should not only learn to play well, but also develop the ability to appreciate and read music confidently.
Many students sigh over how challenging reading music can be — but it doesn’t have to be intimidating. With the right foundation and thoughtful guidance, anyone can learn to read and play music with ease.
My approach focuses on:
-
Building strong fundamentals
-
Step-by-step music reading
-
Developing musical expression
-
Encouraging curiosity and enjoyment
No matter your age or background, I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive, and purposeful — empowering you to grow as both a pianist and a music lover!
